The National Commission of Minimum Wages (Conasami) determines how much the minimum wage would be in 2025 in each of the states of the Mexican Republic. We are in the last days to enter the last month of 2024, the increase proposed by the President Claudia Sheinbaum is 12%below we will tell you how the national panorama would adjust with this increase.
Through the “Mañaneras del Pueblo”, Sheinbaum commented that his intention is for Mexicans to earn the equivalent of 2.5 basic baskets. For this, it would be necessary to increase 12% to be able to comply in 2025. However, for the approval of the increase, representatives of the government, employers and workers also take office, who analyze the country’s economic factors to determine the percentage.

How would the minimum wage be in 2025?
The general minimum wage after 12% increase would go from $248.93 to $278.80 pesos in most of the countrywhile in the Northern Border Free Zonewhich includes some municipalities of the states Baja California, Nuevo León, Sonora, Chihuahua and Coahuila de Zaragoza, the salary would be $419.87 daily pesos compared to the $374.89 that is currently dispersed in formal work.
The northern regions of the country have a higher minimum wage than the rest of Mexico because goods and services are usually higher than in the rest of Mexico. Let us remember that a minimum wage has been established with the intention of covering the basic needs of life.
For now, we will have to wait for businessmen and workers to reach an agreement so that the increase to the minimum wage by 2025. Once established, it will have to be made official through publication in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF). In that same impression it must be established from which day it will come into force.
