Free collective weddings are events organized by the CDMX government with the aim of giving couples the opportunity to formalize their union in an accessible way and at no cost.
On this occasion, The Civil Registry of Mexico City has announced that, on December 13, 2024, residents of the Venustiano Carranza and Azcapotzalco municipalities will be able to get married for free.
This event seeks to facilitate access to legal marriage for couples from these two municipalities, allowing them to celebrate their union without worrying about the expenses associated with the process.
Registration will remain open from this November 27th and until December 6th, and interested people will be able to come and deliver their documents from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the following courts:
- Court 2: located in Fray Servando Teresa de Mier and Francisco del Paso y Troncoso, inside the headquarters of the Mayor’s Office, colony. Balbuena Garden.
- Court 3: located at África 55, Romero Rubio neighborhood.
- Court 19: located on Calzada de las Armas corner Parque Vía, Col. El Rosario.
- Court 36: on Morelos Avenue corner Calzada Santiago Ahuizotla, Santiago Ahuizotla neighborhood.
- Court 47: Calzada Camarones 494, interior of the José Pagés Llergo Social Center, El Recreo neighborhood.
The weddings will be celebrated on December 13 at 5:00 p.m. on the esplanade of the General Directorate of the Civil Registry of Mexico City, in Arcos de Belén, Doctores neighborhood.
What are the requirements for marriage registration in CDMX?
- Certified copy of the birth certificate of the applicants.
- Proof of address from Mexico City (no older than three months from its issuance), original and copy.
- Valid official identification in original and copy.
Both applicants must present their certificate informing whether they are registered in the Registry of Delinquent Food Debtors (REDAM), whose document can be downloaded here.
