More than eight years later Dexter (2006–2013) continued the story of the serial killer Dexter: New Blood (2021–2022). Now it’s time for yet another new series in the series, but this time a prequel series: Dexter: Original Sin (2024)in which we go back in time. The first trailer can now be seen.
How it all started
Original Sin follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges can no longer be ignored, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness.
Under the guidance of his father, Harry (Christian Slater), he adopts a code that will help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on the police radar. This presents a special challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensic internship with the Miami Metro Police Department.
Patrick Gibson
The narrator is original Dexter actor Michael C. Hall, but the younger version of the serial killer is played by The OA and Shadow and Bone actor Patrick Gibson. Other roles include Molly Brown, Christina Milian, James Martinez, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Patrick Dempsey.
Release date in the Netherlands
The series appears here on SkyShowtime because it is a Paramount series. Dexter: Original Sin starts in the US on December 15, after which we expect it here in the Netherlands some time afterwards.
