Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Losing your cellphone can definitely cause panic, but Google Find My Device can be a lifesaver. With this tool, you can track a lost Android cellphone, remotely lock it, make the cellphone ring, and even delete data.
Come on, see how to use it!
What is Google Find My Device?
Quoting GizchinaMonday (18/11/2024), Google first introduced this feature as Android Device Manager in 2013.
In 2017, the name changed to Find My Device, then in 2024 it was updated with the name Find My Device Network which can track offline or dead devices using Bluetooth and data from other Android devices in the vicinity.
Offline Tracking
Now, even if your phone is turned off or offline, it can still be tracked (especially for Pixel 8 and Pixel 9). This feature will be expanded to other devices, but perhaps not all phones can support it, especially budget-friendly ones.
Use Google Nest at Home
If you have Google Nest at home, you can use it to find lost devices. Just say “Hey Google, find my phone” or “ring my headphones”, and the device will sound even in mode Do Not Distrub.
How to Track and Ring a Cell Phone
