The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) confirmed the death of 6 people and 10 injured in an armed attack inside the DBar club; However, he points out that this fact could not be related to organized crime, although he explained that the objective was one of the clients who was in the bar.
In a press conference, the deputy prosecutor of Tabasco, Gilberto Melquiades, stated that at least 10 injuries have been recorded, four of them due to gunshot wounds, five who are verifying the type of injuries and one more who fell while trying to get out. from the joint and has some bruises.
The official explained that, at 3:53 in the morning, they were notified about these events and from the early hours the security table is meeting to address the events recorded in the facilities of this nightclub, located in Tabasco 2000, right in the hotel zone of Villahermosa.
And although the investigation is underway, he said that everything seems to indicate that this armed aggression has no relation to organized crime and pointed out that, apparently, there were several shooters, although it is not clear how many.
“What we have learned so far is that armed people entered that place looking for a specific person and obviously the people who were nearby of that person were also unfortunately affected. The first investigations are already underway, collecting videos, both from the scene of the incident and from the cameras near the scene,” said Deputy Prosecutor Gilberto Melquiades.
He indicated that all the deceased and injured people were over 20 years old, although they do not rule out surprise operations to verify that the establishments are operating within the permitted hours and with the pertinent security measures.
Asked if these events will affect the scheduled activities of the Ceiba Festival that will begin this Sunday, he indicated that up to now normal activities continue.
Likewise, he said that the events that occurred in the municipality of Jalapa, where men with long weapons and hoods entered a wedding, have no relationship with the armed attack at the club.
And he confirmed that, in Jalapa, only one person lost his life and it was Vladimir Zúñiga Calzada, who according to the first investigations being carried out by the FGE, was dedicated to illicit human trafficking activities.
So far, the FGE has not reported any arrests due to these two acts of violence.
