2024 is in its final stretch, and many people wonder if there are still any bridges before the end of the year, or if November 18 was the last holiday, before the winter holidays.
On some occasions, there was an extra day of rest that corresponded to December 1, every six years, however, this year an adjustment was made and that day was eliminated.
What happened was that This holiday was brought forward to October 1, day on which the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, took oath, after the end of the six-year term of Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

The Federal Labor Law established that It will be mandatory rest “on October 1 of every six years, when it corresponds to the transmission of the Federal Executive Power.”
Why was the change made?
A reform modified the date established for a president to end his governmentThat is, instead of taking a protest on December 1, the mandatory rest for taking a protest will be on October 1.
This modification was to article 83 of the Constitutioncarried out in February 2014, so it was later published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).
