December 2024: When do winter holidays begin in Mexico?

December is just around the corner and that means something: winter vacations for millions of Basic Education students in Mexico.

November has been a privileged month for Basic Education students in Mexico. Because? The answer is simple: in this month there are three “bridges”, that is, long weekends. In fact, this weekend is precisely one of them and there is another one to go.

Yesterday, Friday, November 22, there were no school activities because the grades were recorded.so that next week they can deliver ballots to parents.

Finally, The third “bridge” begins on Friday, November 29; The SEP will suspend activities for students on the occasion of the meeting of the School Technical Councilwhere teachers receive training prior to the start of the next school year.

When do December holidays start?

With December just around the corner, the winter holidays for students are already approachingcoupled with the expected festivities inaugurated that month such as Christmas, New Year’s Day and Three Kings’ Day.

According to the calendar, The holidays begin on December 19 and continue until 2025, since during the first days of January -until the 8th- students will be able to enjoy their rest.

In the case of school directors, they resume their work on Monday, January 6, 2025 and teachers and workers the next day -January 7-, because they will have an intensive workshop.
