With 347 votes in favor and 128 against by the PAN, PRI and Citizen Movementmost of Morena and its allies generally approved the elimination of seven autonomous organizations, including the INAI, the Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) and the Federal Economic Competition Commission (Coffee).
The approved constitutional reform transfers the functions of these organizations to different agencies of the federal government, such as the Ministry of Public Education. (SEP)the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT).
Representative Anayeli Muñoz, from the Citizen Movement, presented a suspensive motion, arguing that this decision eliminates checks and balances on the federal government; However, it was rejected by Morena legislators and their allies.
Reservations will be voted on this Thursday, November 21
The Board of Directors declared a recess and will resume the session to continue with the discussion of the opinion in particular, that is, the reservations to the opinion, tomorrow at 09:00 hours.
In that sense, the coordinator of Morena, Ricardo Monreal, announced that tomorrow his party will present reservations to convert the IFT and Cofece into decentralized, but not autonomous, bodies.
