Donald Trump, winner of the presidential elections in the United States, nominated Brendan Carr last night as chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
“Carr currently serves as the highest-ranking Republican on the FCC. I first nominated Carr in 2017 and he has been unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate three times. “His current term in office ends in 2029 and due to his great work, I will now appoint him as permanent president.”Trump said in a statement.

He described Carr as a “free speech warrior. He has fought against regulatory lawfare that has stifled American freedoms and held back our economy. “It will end the regulatory carnage that has impacted American job creators and innovators and ensure the FCC helps rural America.”
Carr has been an outspoken defender at the FCC of Trump’s policies against business regulation, and even accused the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Adam Schiff, of being in charge of a “secret and partisan surveillance machine.”
