During the grand finale of the BLAST R6 Major in Montreal, Ubisoft revealed all the changes coming to Rainbow Six Siege in Operation Collision Point.
While Blackbeard’s rework was the main focus during the launch, he’s not the only operator to undergo changes in Operation Collision Point as Sens and Ying’s gadgets will receive some changes.
Shields
Ubisoft is introducing some important updates to shields during Operation Collision Point. In general, defenders will be able to fight against shields. These changes include include:
- Melee priority for shields has been removed.
- Successive melee hits to the shield will expose the attacker behind the shield, even Montagne when his shield is fully open.
- Shields no longer deal damage.
- Suppression will be easier to activate as the number of bullets needed to trigger it has been reduced from ten to five.
Sens
As revealed in Y9S3.3’s Designer Notes, Sens is currently the least played attacker in the game. The Belgian attacker also owns the worst winning streak in the game’s top flight. To improve its position in the game, Ubisoft is introducing a buff to the Sens gadget called the ROU Projector System. Here’s what will be changed in the Sens gadget:
- The Warden and Bulletproof Camera will no longer be able to view through Sens’ ROU Projector System.
- Sens will be able to activate and deactivate the ROU Projector System at will.
With 15 attackers in the game who have access to gadgets similar to Sens, players now have more options and chances to use Sens. The changes made to the Sens gadget should finally create a clear difference between the ROU Projector System and the smoke grenade.
Additionally with Sens being able to enable and disable the ROU Projector System, attackers will be able to create different strategies using Sens gadgets. One that might work is to place the ROU Projector System on both sides of the bomb site and then activate them at the same time to confuse the defenders, who won’t be able to immediately know which bomb site they are entering. attackers.
Other important aspects to keep in mind about the Sens tool:
- Each ROU Projector System can stay activated for 13 seconds.
- OU Projector System can be destroyed with explosives.
Although Sens will be able to turn the ROU Projector System on and off, the device’s battery will not have a recharging system. For example, if Sens uses an ROU for 10 seconds before turning it off, the remaining battery life will be 3 seconds.
Overall, the Sens’ gadget will allow the Belgian forward to be even more versatile. Only time will tell if Ubisoft’s changes are enough to improve Sens’ position within the Rainbow Six Siege meta.
Ying
Ubisoft is planning a nerf to Ying with Operation Collision Point by adding a two-second delay before Ying’s Candelas explode.
For now, players can cook Ying’s Candelas. Although they will still be able to do this, Ubisoft’s two-second delay after the Candela is maxed out will allow defenders to destroy the gadget by shooting at it.
While this nerf to Ying may not feel like much, it will give defenders a solid opportunity to prevent Ying from maxing out her gadgets.
Other changes expected to come during Year 9 Season 4 are crossplay between PC and Console where players will be able to play with each other.
The game will also update its anti-cheat system where in cases where a cheater is detected in your game, that game will be canceled and none of the participants will be suspended except the cheater. This is expected to bring a better experience during matchmaking in Rainbow Six Siege.
Also Reputation is expected to undergo some changes which will be clearer for players to understand and we should mention the fact that this system will be reset during the next update for Y9S4. Many more things are expected to come like Siege Cup on all platforms, Badges and Career Progression, matchmaking improvements and more. You can learn more by watching the video above.
