The Indonesian national team in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Men branch succeeded in defeating the host team, Saudi Arabia, and won a bronze medal in the 16th IESF Esports World Championship in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In the deciding match for third place, the Indonesian national esports team brilliantly beat the home team with a final score of 2-0 on Friday, November 15 2024.
Commanded by captain Calvin “CW” Winata, the Indonesian national team, strengthened by Alberttt, Sanz, Kiboy, Rezzz and Luke, showed a more mature strategy. In this match, the Red and White team successfully avenged their previous defeat to the Saudi Arabian team in the group stage.
According to CW, this success cannot be separated from intensive evaluation and study of Saudi Arabia’s playing patterns.
“We are proud to be able to bring home a bronze medal, even though our target was gold,” said CW after the match.
He added, “defeat in the group stage was a valuable lesson to make us stronger. We promise to continue practicing to achieve better results in the future.”
Even though they did not reach the target, the victory at WEC 2024 was a sign of a big comeback after a long journey full of challenges in this international event and was still welcomed enthusiastically by esports fans in the country.
