iOS 18.2 Users Can Now Create Genmoji Using Apple Intelligence, Here’s How

Previously, Apple officially released iOS 18.2 beta 3 for developers. There are some small updates that are useful and worth noting. While there aren’t as many changes as in the previous beta, here are the new things introduced.

iOS 18.2 beta 3 comes with build number 22C5131e and is available to developer beta testers. The public beta is expected to be released later this week.

Quoting 9to5macTuesday (12/11/2024), this update can be installed on all iPhones that support iOS 18. However, the Apple Intelligence feature remains exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and iPhone 16 models.

Features and UpdatesCamera Control Settings

Apple added a new option in the Settings app for the Camera Control feature. Currently, you can disable the Require Screen On setting, making it possible to open the Camera application with one tap even if your iPhone 16 screen is off.

CarPlay Icon Update

The next generation of CarPlay interfaces continues to be developed. In beta 3, Apple updated the icons for the “Media” and “Climate” apps. While this new version of CarPlay isn’t available in any cars yet, this change hints at features to come.

Photos App Improvements

Small but useful changes are also in the Photos app. When you tap a video, it no longer automatically zooms in or out. The video scrubber and gallery view underneath remain visible, making media navigation easier.

Customize TV Apps on iPad

For iPad users, iPadOS 18.2 beta 3 includes a customizable navigation bar in the TV app. You can add items like channels, apps, library sections, and sports to the tab bar for easier access.

Other Important Updates

  • Bug Fix: Play Sound and Precision Finding features for AirTags, AirPods, and third-party Find My accessories should now work more reliably.
  • AirPlay Icons: The icons in the share sheet are getting a bit smaller re-design.
