Yesterday, the Federation Expenditure Budget Project for 2025 was presented, leaving out two of the priority projects for Jalisco that were promised in the campaign by Claudia Sheinbaum: the start of the construction of Line 5 of the Light Rail and the work for the sanitation of the Santiago River.
The Budget of Expenses It will still be discussed in the Chambers, with the intention of the official bench to approve it on December 15.
Pablo Lemus, elected governor of Jalisco, pointed out that “sadly we see that the State was relegated in the budget allocation for 2025. There is no money for issues as important as the sanitation of the Santiago River or mobility projects for the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area.”
“There is a minimum fund for the El Zapotillo Dam system and the national fund for the recovery of roads is frankly insufficient: 10 billion are allocated for the entire countrywhen only in Jalisco are those 10 billion required to recover the main federal highways that have been converted into a road of craters. “You don’t see the commitment or affection for the people of Jalisco!” criticized the governor-elect.
In that sense, he highlighted that “we will seek the support of the Jalisco representative Mery Gómez Pozos, president of the Budget Commission, and of all the legislators of Jalisco in the federal Legislature, without distinction of party colors. “We are going to fight so that Jalisco gets what it deserves.”
He wants the State to do well
In this regard, Mary Gómez Pozos responded that “there is no institutional approach by the State Government to know its priorities, but without a doubt, as a Jalisco native I will always seek that Jalisco “Let’s do well.”
“From my position, my interest is to ensure that all Mexicans do well, regardless of the color of the party that governs their states or municipalities,” said Mery Gómez Pozos.
He stressed that the Budget Commission will carry out a responsible and in-depth analysis “to ensure that the spending carried out by the Federation, States and municipalities responds to the needs of the majority of Jalisco residents.”
“The President made specific commitments during her visits to Jalisco, and she will fulfill those commitments in her administration. From the Commission that I head, we are going to materialize it,” he noted.
He added that the budget includes “the rehabilitation of new highways and roads, hydraulic infrastructure, infrastructure to improve connectivity between regions, protection of social programs that are already constitutional rights, and all this with healthy public finances and a debt at levels low compared to other similar economies.”
Regarding the budget that the University of Guadalajara will have, Mery Gómez Pozos pointed out that: “We will comply with the President’s commitment to prioritize the budget for public universities. The analysis will begin next week in working groups to discuss specific topics such as education and support for public universities. And we will have an opinion approved in committee by December 11, hoping to approve the economic package by December 15 at the latest.”

The president of the Budget Commission promises that Claudia Sheinbaum will fulfill the specific commitments she made with Jalisco. SPECIAL
They will advocate for the reallocation of resources
There are multiple projects in the State that will seek a reallocation in order to be realized, authorities acknowledge, a task that will not be easy to accomplish in any case.
In infrastructure for Jaliscothe project budgetary It only provides 66 million pesos for the continuation of the adaptations of the El Zapotillo Damwhich are part of the reservoir work and the construction of the El Zapotillo-El Salto and El Salto-La Red-Calderón aqueduct, for the comprehensive water supply for the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area.
133.6 million are also allocated for the installation of four autotransformers of the “Guadalajara Industrial” project.as part of the federal “CFE Consolidated” program, although no further details are given.
Claudia Salas, federal representative for Jaliscoexplained that there is an opportunity to generate dialogues from all fronts to reallocate resources to priority projects in the State.
“This project comes in good time because, since it is an election year, we have until December 31 to approve it. We will do a lot of analysis and reflection, we will be very insistent that the projects that Jalisco needs can come,” he points out.
However, In the discussions of the budgets of the last administration of former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the reallocations accepted by Morena and allies in the legislative chambers were minimal.
An interview was requested with the deputy for Morena, Favio Castellanos, but until the closing of this edition he did not respond.
