After several days of rumors, this Thursday, November 14, the Order Commission of the National Action Party (PAN)in full exercise of its powers and unanimously by its members, reported that it had already made the decision to expel Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquez from the party and Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares.
The move occurred after highlighting that Senator Yunes Márquez voted in favor of the approval of the judicial reform.
In the statement issued on the official website of the National Action Party (PAN), the commission explains that the decision was made after a careful analysis of the circumstances and in compliance with the principles and regulations that govern the institution, explained its president, Marisol. Vargas Bárcena.
The expulsion, the text says, “is based on the need to maintain the integrity and values that characterize National Action, as well as to guarantee respect for the decisions that strengthen our unity and commitment to citizens.”
At the end of the document, the PAN thanks “to all the members of the Commission for their dedication and commitment to this work. We reiterate our commitment to the principles of the party and to work for the benefit of society, concluded the president of the Order Commission.”
What did the Yunes do to be expelled from the PAN?
It was during the session on September 10, 2024 when it was announced that the PAN senator, Miguel Ángel Yunes Márquezseparated from his duties for health reasons, in the midst of the controversy over the vote on the judicial reform proposed by the then president of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Through a statement read by the party’s board of directors, it was learned that Yunes Márquez requested leave, and that it would be his father, Miguel Ángel Yunes Linares, who would take his seat in the Senate for the session. Then, their vote was cast in favor of the judicial reform, with which Morena and its allies achieved the qualified majority for its approval.
