Chanel Maya Banks has been found guilty after a mysterious disappearance that lasted no less than two weeks. The 36-year-old Gossip Girl actress was reported missing on October 30, and there has been no trace since. On Tuesday, authorities managed to find her again. According to the first reports, there is no malicious intent.
Red flag
“Not hearing anything for five days raises red flags and alarm bells,” Banks’ cousin Danielle-Tori Singh told reporters earlier this week The Independent. The actress disappeared on October 30 without any indication of where she had gone. During two checks on November 7 and 8, police found her personal belongings and her dog in her apartment, where Banks has been living for a year. Her car was also still in the garage. The actress herself remained missing.
Flyers
“She never goes anywhere for more than 48 hours without speaking to me or her mother,” Singh previously said. Flyers were distributed to find the actress. Her niece also created a GoFundMe page. What makes the situation more remarkable is that Banks’ partner did not want to participate in the search. He even allegedly took flyers off cars.
Relationship issue?
Although the exact circumstances of the disappearance are still uncertain, it appears that it has to do with the relationship between Banks and her partner. When Singh visited the house on November 10, he reportedly said that the actress “didn’t want to be found” and would “make herself heard when she was ready again.” Not long afterward, authorities found Banks in (reportedly) good health. The actress has had quite a journey: she disappeared in Los Angeles and was found in the state of Texas.
In 2009, Banks appeared in three episodes of the celebrated drama series Gossip Girl. She also had a role in the film Twelve (2010) van Joel Schumacher.
