An American government employee has been accused of being responsible for a leak of documents about the Israeli response to Iran, several American media report.
The official in question, Asif W. Rahman, a CIA employee, was arrested Tuesday.
He faces two counts of withholding and disseminating information concerning national defense.
The documents he allegedly disclosed were prepared by the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency containing images and information collected by American spy satellites, according to the New York Times.
They describe in particular military exercises, weapon placements and an estimate of potential damage.
The leak occurred last month and was reported by several media outlets.
Israel was then preparing to respond to the attack by around 200 Iranian missiles on Israeli territory.
Mr. Rahman, who was working overseas, will return to court in Guam on Thursday.
