However, that same night they lost all communication with her and, after several failed contact attempts, her relatives filed a missing person report.
From then on, state authorities issued a search card for Alejandra and her little daughter, and investigative work began to locate them.

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Colima began an exhaustive search in coordination with local authorities and groups of missing persons. The work included both field and office investigation, carrying out an analysis of various indications.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the key elements in the investigation were the analysis of videos from security cameras, geolocations and interviews with people close to the family.. This intelligence work made it possible to identify and locate the alleged person responsible for the disappearance of the mother and daughter, although the authorities have not revealed specific details about his identity.

After several days of searching, the bodies of Alejandra and her daughter They were found dead on a property in the municipality of Cuauhtémoc, in Colima. The authorities transferred the bodies to the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) to perform the legal autopsies and determine the exact causes of their death. Although precise details about the circumstances of their deaths have not been released, the news was confirmed by both Alejandra’s family and the search collective Madres Buscadoras de Jalisco.
The group, which supports families in cases of disappearance, published on its social networks: “We deeply regret to inform that Alejandra Rivas Gómez, reported missing along with her one-year-old baby, María José Rivas Gómez, was found dead. We join in the immense pain of his family, accompanying them in this moment of mourning and sadness.”
