“Rafael”, now a tropical storm, is located over the Gulf of Mexico and its effects will be felt in regions of the Mexican Republic; reported the National Meteorological Service (SMN), official climate source of the Government of Mexico.
This Saturday morning, November 9, the SMN shared that tropical storm “Rafael”, over the Gulf of Mexico, will weaken during this weekend. However, its cloud breaks will cause heavy rains (25 to 50 mm) in Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo.
Until 09:15 this day, the cyclone was located 470 km north-northwest of Progreso, Yucatán.
Heavy rains (25 to 50 mm) are expected in Campeche, Yucatán and Quintana Roo. In addition to wind with gusts of 40 to 60 km/h in Tamaulipas and waves of 1 to 2 meters on the coast of said state.
They ask the general population to take extreme precautions in the areas of the mentioned states due to rain, wind and waves (including maritime navigation) and to comply with the recommendations issued by the authorities of the National Civil Protection System, in each entity.
