Liputan6.com, Jakarta – The prestigious 16th IESF World Esports Championship (WEC) 2024 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is just around the corner.
The Indonesian esports national team is increasingly undergoing the National Training Center (Pelatnas), which is being held by the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PB ESI).
Through this National Training Center, it is hoped that the national team that will go to Riyadh will appear more mature from a technical and non-technical perspective.
In this prestigious match, the Indonesian national esports team has the ambition to make the nation proud by bringing home three gold medals from this tournament.
Preparation for the World Stage
This year’s National Training includes a number of popular esports divisions, such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) in the men’s and women’s categories.
Apart from that, Indonesia also participates in the men’s PUBG Mobile division. Previously, these athletes had gone through the Asia-Oceania Online Qualifier.
In this match, they managed to show their best performance to secure a place in the main round of WEC 2024.
The PUBG Mobile national team will be the first esports athletes to go to Riyadh, followed by MLBB men and women.
Chairman of the PB ESI National Team Agency (BTN), Tjahjono Prasetyanto, stated that Pelatnas is focused on several key aspects, such as maturing strategies through scrims (sparring sessions), optimizing physical fitness, as well as improving the mental and psychological aspects of athletes.
“We want to ensure optimal readiness for all competing esports teams, so that they are ready to face tough competition in this international event,” Tjahjono quoted from his statement, Friday (8/11/2024).
He is also optimistic that the Indonesian national team can bring extraordinary achievements home to Indonesia.
