► Xi Jinping calls for “strengthening dialogue”
Chinese President Xi Jinping told US President-elect Donald Trump on Thursday, November 7, that their two countries should “get along” et “strengthen dialogue”
“History has shown that China and the United States benefit from cooperation and lose from confrontation. A stable, healthy and lasting China-US relationship is in line with the common interests of the two countries and the expectations of the international community.Xi Jinping told his interlocutor, according to state television CCTV.
► Trump wins Alaska
Donald Trump won the three major voters in Alaska, and now has 295, compared to 226 for his Democratic rival Kamala Harris.
The Republican was declared the winner in five key states: Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan. The results of the last two, Nevada and Arizona, are not yet known. But they will not change the outcome of the vote.

Kamala Harris “has been an incredible partner” Joe Biden said Wednesday evening in a statement, welcoming “integrity, courage and temperament” of the vice-president after her bitter defeat against Donald Trump.

“We must accept the results of this election”said the vice-president in a speech with a rather combative tone, after being soundly defeated by Republican Donald Trump.
The former Democratic candidate also called on his supporters to “keep fighting”. The “The light of America’s promise will always shine (…) as long as we don’t give up and keep fighting”said the Vice-President of the United States.

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro said Wednesday evening that the election of Donald Trump could be a “new beginning” in relations between Venezuela and the United States after the breakdown of relations that occurred in 2019 during the first term of Donald Trump.
“It didn’t go well for us during his first term. It’s a new beginning. We bet on win-win. May it go well for the United States and may it go well for Venezuela”declared Nicolás Maduro during a television show.

Volodymyr Zelensky said Wednesday evening that he had a « excellent » telephone exchange with Donald Trump after his victory in the American presidential election.

► Macron and Trump intend to work for “peace and stability”
The French presidency announced on Wednesday that Emmanuel Macron and Donald Trump expressed their “desire to work for the return of peace and stability” facing the “major ongoing international crises”during their first telephone exchange after the victory of the Republican candidate.
