However, there is sad news for PlayStation fans in Indonesia. The PlayStation 5 Pro (PS5 Pro) console will certainly not be officially available in Indonesia.

In fact, neighboring countries such as Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand are already preparing to welcome the arrival of Sony’s new console on November 7 2024.

Why is PS5 Pro not present in Indonesia?

The reason behind the PS5 Pro’s absence in Indonesia is surprising. Sony said that the reason the Wi-Fi 7 network is not yet available in Indonesia is the main obstacle.

“PS5 Pro will be launched globally, but will not be available in countries that have not approved the 6GHz wireless band used in IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7),” explained a Sony representative to the Liputan6.com contact team, Tuesday (5/ 11/2024).

The Wi-Fi 7 feature carried by the PS5 Pro requires the 6GHz wireless band, which is not yet fully supported in Indonesia, and is needed for the console to function optimally.

However, Sony PlayStation is reluctant to provide further information regarding whether this is purely due to technological obstacles or if government regulations are another inhibiting factor.

“Unfortunately, we have no additional details to share regarding this,” Sony added.
