“Optimism was observed in the United States capital market after Donald Trump was announced as the winner of the presidency, due to the proposal to reduce corporate taxes, which would help improve company profits,” commented the director. of Economic and Financial Analysis of Banco Base, Gabriela Siller.
He explained that “market optimism is something unusual” since in the last 24 elections (since 1928), the indices in the United States usually lose the day after the election, but in this Tuesday’s session the Dow Jones gained a 3.57 %; the Nasdaq advanced one 2.93 % and the S&P 500 rose one 2.53 %.
While in Mexico, Siller said, the Price and Quotation Index (IPC), the BMV’s main indicator, “closed the session with a gain of 1.61 %the highest since October 4″.
He noted that internally the stations’ profits stood out: Cemex (+8.35%), Banorte (+3.93%), Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (+1.95%), América Móvil (+1.13%) and Alfa (+4.9%).
For his part, the director of Economic Analysis of the Actinver Financial Group, Enrique Covarrubias, noted that “during Wednesday’s session, the CPI joined the positive trend of its United States peers and advanced 1.77 %“.
With this movement, he said, the Mexican index accumulates a loss so far this year. -9.8 %.

The volume traded in the market reached 293.2 million titles for an amount of 26,654 million pesos.
Of the 675 firms that were listed on the day, 427 they ended with their prices rising, 220 They had losses and 28 closed without changes.
