The Government of Mexico has launched the Rita Cetina Gutiérrez Universal Scholarshipan economic support program aimed at basic education students, initially focused on those who attend secondary school in public schools.
The support consists of a bimonthly payment of 1,900 pesos, with an additional 700 pesos for families who have more than one enrolled student. with the aim of alleviating the economic burden of Mexican families and promoting the permanence of students in the educational system.
What is the registration process?
Registration for the Rita Cetina Gutiérrez Scholarship It is divided into two stages. The first, which began October 14, 2024 and will extend until January 17, 2025consists of information assemblies organized by the National Coordination of Scholarships for Well-being in various high schools in the country. These meetings aim to explain to parents the requirements and procedure for accessing support.

The second stage of the process will be online registration, which will be available from November 11 to December 18, 2024. During this period, families will be able to officially register their children through the website becaritacetina.gob.mx.
Guide to online registration
To facilitate the online registration process, the steps to follow are as follows:
- Access to the platform: Starting November 11, enter the official website to start registration.
- Account Creation: Parents or guardians must register by providing their CURP, email, and phone number. These details are necessary to confirm the account.
- Account confirmation: After registration, you will receive an email with a link to activate your account. Click on it to complete the activation.
- Document upload: You will upload copies in PDF format or image of the official identification (INE, passport or professional ID) and a recent proof of address.
- Student registration: Once your account is activated, you will be able to enter the CURP of each student you wish to enroll. Make sure the data is correct, as the system will perform an automatic verification.
- Information validation: Carefully review all data and documents before finishing to avoid errors in validation.
What are the requirements for Registration?
To complete the online registration, you will need the following documents in digital format:
- Student’s birth certificate.
- CURP of the student.
- Proof of studies (certificate, school ID or report card).
- Official identification of the tutor (INE, passport or professional ID).
- Recent proof of address.
Delivery of well-being cards
The financial support will be delivered through the Wellbeing Cards, whose distribution will begin on November 25, 2024. In this first phase, the beneficiaries will be secondary school students, while primary and preschool students will be able to enroll in later years, with a plan that foresees their incorporation in 2026 and 2027.
