It’s Tuesday The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011) to see. Investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist (Daniel Craig) leaves his magazine Millenium after being accused. He accepts an offer from Henrik Vanger (Christopher Plummer) to write the Vanger family history. What Henrik most wants to know is what happened to his niece Harriet Vanger, who disappeared without a trace 40 years ago. Blomkvist decides to hire an assistant, computer hacker Lisbeth Salander (Rooney Mara), to help him. Together they learn the deep secrets of the Vanger family. The film can now also be seen via Pathé Thuis.
It’s Wednesday Get Out (2017) broadcast. African-American Chris visits her parents for the first time with his (white) girlfriend Rose. His new parents-in-law live on a large estate and are extremely friendly to him. He initially gets the feeling that this excessive friendliness is a way for them to deal with the discomfort surrounding their differences in skin color. But the longer he is a guest, the more strange things he discovers. He slowly discovers the real reason for the invitation…
On Thursday you’ll be watching Lupita Nyong’o Us (2019). To get away from their busy lives, the Wilson family takes a vacation to Santa Cruz, California, planning to spend time with their friends, the Tyler family. One day at the beach, their young son Jason almost wanders off, causing his mother Adelaide to become protective of her family. That night, four mysterious people break into Adelaide’s childhood home where they are staying. The family is shocked to discover that the intruders look just like them, only with a grotesque appearance.
Friday is the horror movie’s turn The Conjuring (2013). The happy family of Roger and Carolyn Perron and their daughters have just moved to an old farmhouse in Rhode Island. They soon realize that their dream house is attracting paranormal activity. Paranormal investigators Lorraine and Ed Warren come to their rescue and experience the most terrifying case of their careers.
Saturday is celebrated with Scarface (1983). After receiving a residence permit in exchange for the murder of a Cuban government official, Tony Montana (Al Pacino) turns to drug trafficking in Miami. He kills anyone who gets in his way and eventually becomes the state’s biggest drug lord, controlling almost all the cocaine that comes through Miami. But mounting pressure from police, wars with Colombian drug cartels and his own drug-induced paranoia fuel the flames of his eventual downfall.
The week ends with Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009). In part six, during his new year at Hogwarts, Harry (Daniel Radcliffe) comes into possession of a potions book that once belonged to the Half-Blood Prince. This contains spells that are not included in others. As Harry struggles with the secret spells and his social life, Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) shows him more and more of Voldemort’s past.
