The first announcement of Red One dates back years and it took a while before Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Chris ‘Captain America’ Evans could actually join forces. The trailer shows how the two star actors must do everything they can to save Santa Claus – and thus Christmas – after an unforeseen kidnapping:

The direction of this budget-rich action comedy seems to be in good hands with Jake Kasdan. That maker knows Dwayne Johnson very well from the newer Jumanji films. In addition to these two big names, JK Simmons, Bonnie Hunt, Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018–2020)), Lucy Liu, Game of Thrones actor Kristofer Hivju, Wesley Kimmel and Nick Kroll will be seen in the film.
When Santa Claus – codename: Red One – is kidnapped, the head of security at the North Pole (Dwayne Johnson) must team up with the world’s most notorious detective (Chris Evans).
