Deepfake Fraud Mode Increases 1,550 Percent in Indonesia

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – It turns out that advances in artificial intelligence (AI) technology are also being used by irresponsible individuals to carry out cyber crimes.

PT Indonesia Digital Identity (VIDA) recorded a very significant increase, namely 1,550 percent, in cases of fraud using deepfake technology in Indonesia from 2022 to 2023.

Co-founder and President of VIDA, Sati Rasuanto, expressed his concern about the rise of increasingly sophisticated digital fraud.

“Misuse of AI, especially deepfake fraud, poses a serious threat to the security of our digital transactions,” said Sati, quoted from BetweenSaturday (2/11/2024).

To overcome this problem, VIDA presents a comprehensive solution called VIDA Identity Stack (VIS).

VIS is claimed to be able to guarantee digital transaction security of up to 99.9% through various superior features such as identity verification, user authentication and sophisticated fraud detection.

“VIS was specifically designed to deal with the four main threats of AI-based fraud, namely social engineering, account takeover, identity theft and document forgery,” claimed Sati.
