Her death dates back to December 18, 2018. Nearly six years after the death of Micheline Myrtil, a woman born in Martinique in 1963, the Assistance publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) was referred to the Paris criminal court for homicide involuntary, Franceinfo learned from a judicial source, Thursday October 31, confirming information from AFP.
According to this source, in his referral order, issued on Wednesday, the investigating judge states that “the AP-HP committed a fault in a certain connection” with the death of Micheline Myrtil, admitted to the emergency room and left for several hours without “no one cares”.
The AP-HP was indicted in March 2021. If the Paris prosecutor’s office had initially requested a trial for involuntary homicide, at the end of 2022, it finally requested a dismissal of the case on July 3, considering that “the causal link between possible deficiencies in hospital care” et “death was not established”.
This 55-year-old patient suffered from headaches and calf pain. She was dropped off at the Lariboisière emergency room by the firefighters on December 17, 2018 at the end of the afternoon, then received and directed to a waiting room. A first autopsy report established that the patient was dead. “acute respiratory failure secondary to pulmonary edema”.
Called around midnight under a wrong identity, “Myatil” instead of “Myrtle”the patient never responded, and was then considered gone. She was actually on a stretcher, “unsupervised” between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., at which time she was found dead, without having seen a doctor.
