It was a great holiday classic for over ten years. To wait patiently before the arrival of the big red man, La Chaîne du Père Noël has since its creation offered 100% Christmas magic programming from November to January with cartoons, films or TV films.
Unfortunately for young and old, the Santa Claus channel will not be broadcasting this year. “End clap for The Santa Claus Channel: it will not be broadcast on your TV screens this year. We are sad just like you,” says an advisor from Orange, the channel’s exclusive broadcaster, in a message posted on the operator’s forum.
According to Planète CSAT, the contract between the M6 group, owner of the channel, and Orange has in fact come to an end without being renewed, therefore sealing the fate of the ephemeral channel at least for this year. Launched in 2011, La Chaîne du Père Noël first belonged to the Lagardère Active group then to Canal+ before being bought in 2019 by M6.
