Although at the beginning of October the Government of Nuevo León stated that the proliferation of dengue was about to end, this Wednesday, Alma Rosa Marroquín, head of the Ministry of Health, reported an increase in cases, reaching a weekly record in the epidemiological week.
The state official He detailed that during week 43, which spanned from October 22 to 29, 1,079 cases were recorded.which makes it the week with the highest figure. In addition, he said that there were 12 deaths, of which three are minors.

“Our highest record had been the last week of August, and from then on this trend began that seemed totally downward, unlike what is happening this last week.
In this case we are in a state of alert… we have not issued an emergency declaration because all these factors have not been presented,” the official admitted.
Marroquín said that in week 42 he had reported 577 cases.

The municipalities most affected are Monterrey, Guadalupe, Escobedo, Apodaca and San Nicolás de los Garza.
“The call to the entire population to be attentive, we have seen how municipalities have fortunately already joined in, but this is not enough, we require that each and every one of us be attentive,” Marroquín urged.
With this last cut, Nuevo León was placed in the second entity with the most cases of dengue in the country, after Jalisco.
