The celebration for Day of the Dead It will be in a very short time. Mexican families prepare to purchase the materials and ingredients with which they will assemble the altar. Since it is a tradition that is celebrated year after year, it is likely that many families already have the necessary decorations and therefore, their financial investment for the altar is minimal.

As a result of inflation and the devaluation of the peso, prices have increased considerably. According to the Federal Consumer Prosecutor’s Office (Profeco), the prices of each element of the offer vary depending on the size, portion or kilograms.

- Sailor (large/transparent glass), cost 20.73 pesos.
- Table salt (1 kilo), cost 22.10 pesos in average price, 17.60 pesos in minimum or single price and maximum price of 25 pesos.
- Black copal incense (100 grams), cost 114 pesos.
- Incense or natural tear (100 grams), cost 17.70 pesos.
- Sachumer (black with medium enamel), cost 55 pesos on average, 40 pesos minimum and 75 pesos maximum.
- Xoloitzcuintle dog figure (clay), cost 39.17 pesos.
- bread of the dead (piece of 90 to 100 grams), cost of 20.87 pesos on average, 15 pesos minimum and 25 pesos maximum.
- red rice (portion for 4 or 5 people), cost of 47.33 pesos on average and 93.50 pesos for a minimum or single.
- Mole with chicken (portion for 4 or 5 people), cost 123.02 pesos.
Support and consume local commerce. Much of the decorations for the altar such as candles, marigold flowers, papel picado, incense, salt, bread of the dead and sugar skulls; can be purchased at Cardboard Fair and Day of the Dead in Morelos Park.
