Great commotion was experienced yesterday afternoon in the city after a subject ran over dozens of people in front of the Guadalajara Cathedral, after having stolen a truck.
According to the facts, the perpetrator was arrested after stealing a truck at the intersection of Independencia and Zaragoza streets, near the Corona Market, where he ran over three other people and a motorcyclist.
The subject, who was attacked by people who were at the site, crashed into a vehicle at the intersection of Morelos and Zaragoza streets, before entering the pedestrian zone from the vicinity of the Cathedral, where he charged into the crowd, as recorded by the C5 video surveillance system.
After the incident, sixteen people were injured, who were at a pro-life demonstration. The Government of Guadalajara reported that the majority of those affected have already been discharged, while three continue to receive medical care in private hospitals.
However, his health is reported as stable.
Verónica Delgadillo, president of Guadalajara, reported that remains pending of the evolution in the health of those affected after the event, after having visited them at the Green Cross and Red Cross clinics, where they received medical attention.
