Yesterday was a historic and festive day for Dulces de la Rosa, one of the Jalisco companies with the greatest global projection dedicated to the candy industry.
The native company from Jalisco, recognized for its quality and social commitment, achieved a new Guinness Record for our State and Mexico, by manufacture the largest Marzipan in the world in the city of Los Angeles, California.
The party where the Giant Marzipan was made began at 11:00 a.m. with the interpretation of the anthems of the United States and Mexico.
Half an hour later, 20 company employees, observing all sanitary measures and dressed in white coats, began to pour the ingredients into the Marzipan mold. The container measured 3.6 meters in diameter by 1.60 meters high.
After careful preparation, the sweet was ready, with a weight that set a new Record Guinness: 10 tons 438 kilos. The previous mark, reached in Guadalajara in 2018, was 8 tons 296 kilos.
The event, held in the Los Angeles town of Santa Ana, was attended by Gerardo Quirino Velázquez, mayor of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga; Gustavo Padilla, director of Cucea of the UdeG; Don Salvador García, leader of the federation of Jalisciences clubs in Southern California; Mike González, leader of the 32 for Mexico from Santa Ana, California, as well as Enrique Michel, candy businessman and director of Dulces de la Rosa.
Gerardo Quirino Velázquez pointed out during the event that “Dulces de la Rosa is the largest candy empire in all of Latin America. The company generates more than three thousand jobs in our municipality (Tlajomulco) and we are very proud of all its workers.”
Dulces de la Rosa, always seeks the greatest purposes as a family, directors, managers and workers in all branches and production centers, they prepared themselves hard and that is perhaps the greatest teaching that comes from their parents and its founder Don Jesús Michel.
The Giant Marzipan in Los Angeles not only sets a Guinness Record that our state boasts, it is also an example of the preservation of our identity through an icon of the national confectionery.
The effort behind the production and record of the Giant Marzipan is also a reward for all those countrymen who cross the border and who do not at any time lose the connection with their land and, above all, the rich flavor of the Dulces de la Rosa.
