You’re going to see grandma in Burgundy, hang out with friends in Bordeaux or seek some sun in Brittany (good luck). So a little advice: don’t be in too much of a hurry to arrive. Because this Friday and all day Saturday, traffic is expected to be difficult throughout the country, warns Bison futé. For this mid-holiday weekend of All Saints’ Day, the clever bovid (get it?) even predicts very difficult traffic in the direction of departures in the Paris region.
Bison futé has classified the entire Ile de France in red this Friday evening and advises leaving after 10 p.m. this Friday, before 8 a.m. Saturday morning or after 3 p.m. The A10 between the French capital and Orléans should be the most congested. To avoid.
The Paris region will not be the only one affected. Traffic should also be particularly dense on the routes leading to Lille, Lyon, Nancy, Toulouse and Bordeaux, with congestion peaks expected between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. around the major metropolises mentioned above.
It is particularly recommended not to take the A7 motorway this Friday evening between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., particularly around Lyon but also Marseille. The A1 motorway linking Paris and Lille is expected to be particularly busy, as is the A64 south of Toulouse. “In the direction of returns, slowdowns could appear from the end of the afternoon until the evening,” warns Bison futé, citing in particular the southern half (A7, A64 and A61), the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. (A41 and A46), as well as the North (A1 towards Paris).
And what does that look like for Saturday?
Traffic should be less dense on Saturday, without being completely fluid. “In Île-de-France in the direction of departures from the beginning of the morning, we should observe greater congestion than usual in the direction of the various toll barriers, particularly on the A10 and A6 motorways,” warns Smart bison. Be careful and take your time.
