The number of unemployed registered with France Travail in category A (without activity) remained almost stable (+ 0.2%) in the third quarter in France (excluding Mayotte), i.e. 5,200 more registered, to 3.021 million, according to the figures published Friday October 25 by the Ministry of Labor.
Including reduced activity (categories B and C), the number of job seekers stands at 5.4 million. It increased by 0.2% in the third quarter compared to the previous quarter and by 0.8% over one year, according to the Statistics Directorate of the Ministry of Labor (Dares).
In the second quarter, the number of unemployed people in category A fell by 0.4%. It is stable over one year in the third quarter.
Unemployment increases among men
For mainland France alone, unemployment is increasing among men (+0.4%) and remains stable among women.
This number of job seekers in category A decreases by 0.9% for those under 25 (+ 0.9% over one year), increases by 0.1% for those aged 25 to 49 (-0 .2% over one year) and 0.8% for those aged 50 or over (+0.3% over one year).
On the long-term unemployment front, the number of job seekers registered for a year or more (in categories A, B, C) increased by 0.4% in the third quarter (+1% year-on-year). Their share is 43.9%.
Entries at France Travail in these same categories due to redundancy increased by 5.7%.
