The diocese of San Cristóbal de las Casas demanded that the Government urgently disarm, dismantle and disarticulation of criminal groups in Chiapas and its national and international allied networksinterested in dispossession and territorial control.
The demand includes a total stop to “overflowing violence” in the Statewhich is the result of impunity, complicity, corruption, denial and minimization of “the fatal” violent events that the people suffer on a daily basis, especially those of Chicomuselo, Frontera Comalapa, Pantelhó, the Sierra and the Friarsca.
He also demanded clarification of “the cruel” murder of the priest. Marcelo Pérez Pérez, shot to death last Sunday morning after celebrating mass in the neighborhood Cuxtitaland that the law be applied to the “authentic” material and intellectual authors, to avoid light accusations to evade social pressure and criticism.
In a statement he noted that The murder of the Tsotsil religious was committed in a context that the diocese warned about starting in 2020 in the pastoral letter “Let us walk together in the Light of the Lord.”when it increased due to the presence of criminal groups and government permissiveness.
