The Universal Scholarship for Basic Education “Rita Cetina Gutiérrez” is one of the new Welfare programs of the Government of Mexico, announced by the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo.
This scholarship will be awarded to all preschool, primary and secondary education students in public schools, with the objective of financially supporting the students’ families and guaranteeing their permanence in the educational system.
This support will start in 2025 with the provision of scholarships for all secondary school students in public schools.

According to information from the same government, information assemblies are currently being held in the schools to give the mothers, fathers and guardians of the students all the details of how they should Register online, which will be open from Monday, November 11 to Wednesday, December 18, 2024.
According to the head of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), Mario Delgado, in the first week of assemblies, 7 thousand of the 35 thousand that the SEP has planned were held. to publicize the “Rita Cetina Gutierrez” scholarship, which will begin to be awarded in 2025.
This scholarship will grant 1,900 pesos every two months per family and if families have more than one child in secondary school, they will receive an additional 700 pesos for each of them.
