“Our rooster was there long before. » In Boussieu, a hamlet in northern Isère, the life of the rooster Ricco, accused of crowing too loudly, is now in the hands of justice. Less than two months before the hearing, scheduled for January 14, its owners have decided to counter-attack. They launched a petition which has already collected 6,000 signatures, indicates France Bleu. The objective: to challenge the government, in particular the Ministry of Agriculture, to win the case.
Rooster crowing, a sensory heritage?
Exasperated by the songs of the gallinaceous, their neighbor filed a complaint. But the owners deny it. “Ricco is not a morning person because he only leaves the henhouse at 8:30 a.m. and 9 a.m. in the summer,” they argue, specifying that they have installed an automatic opening of the henhouse. And to drive the point home: “our rooster was there long before the complainant. However, we have been under pressure from our new neighbor for two years. »
This affair is reminiscent of that of the Maurice rooster. “A law should protect the rooster by considering its crowing as a sensory heritage in our countryside”, they plead, specifying that the mayor of the town, in which they reside, had already “rejected any trouble linked to Ricco”.
