The “Las Cuadritas” Shelter, founded by Fray Antonio Alcalde, turns 234 years old having been created as a refuge for the relatives of sick people who receive care in Civil Hospitals, thus continuing a legacy that survives through the centuries in the capital of Jalisco.
This work is now led by citizen organizations such as Galilea 2000 AC, which, throughout 2024, has supported the treatment and care outside the hospital of almost 7 thousand peoplemainly girls and boys with various conditions, as well as patients with cancer and kidney failure.
The director and legal representative of said association, Paulina Chávez Zepeda, announced this morning at a media conference, the details of the event “The Experience of Fray Antonio Alcalde”, an activity that will combine art and gastronomy, organized to raise funds and strengthen the social programs that this organization applies in “Las Cuadritas”.
Likewise, he indicated that The gala will take place next Thursday, October 24, starting at 6:00 pmin the historic property located on Donato Guerra Street #25, in the center of Guadalajara.

“We deeply appreciate all the collaboration and trust that society has placed in this project over the years. Every donation and every act of solidarity towards this cause is an incentive for us. As part of its strategy, from January to September of this year, the organization has delivered 47,242 food rations, more than a thousand pantries and more than 8,300 personal hygiene kits.
Likewise, it has given 10,426 in-kind support; more than 23 thousand accommodation supports; and 852 support with specialized consultations.
