Korean comic platform KAKAO WEBTOON will terminate Traditional Chinese service

According to foreign media reports, South Korea’s Kakao Entertainment’s comic service has decided to withdraw from the online comics market in Indonesia and Taiwan. In the future, only Thai will continue to operate in Southeast Asia. Kakao Entertainment officials stated that the decision to withdraw from the Indonesian and Taiwan markets was to focus resources on developing business in North America.

Kakao Entertainment has entered Taiwan since 2021 and represents a number of popular Korean comics under the name of KAKAO WEBTOON, including “I Level Up Alone”, “S-Class Villain Daughter Doesn’t Want to Fall in Love”, “Villains Only End in Death”, “Debu Can’t Debut” “Deadly Disease”, “Like a Butterfly”, “Exorcist Noodle House”, “Itaewon Class”, etc.

At present, Taiwan’s official SNS has not announced the official end date of the service.
