Elements of Civil Protection and Tlajomulco Firefighters rescued a family that was lost in Cerro Viejo, in the El Pocito area, in the San Miguel Cuyutlán ejido; since last night.
Around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, a report was received through C4 Tlajomulco about a 28-year-old man, a 19-year-old woman, and a 1 and a half-year-old baby who had gone out for a picnic aboard a motorcycle. However, they suffered a fall and one of the unit’s tires broke down, so they could no longer use it.
The family tried to walk towards the town of San Miguel Cuyutlán, but they entered a ravine and could not get out. Personnel from the Coordination of Emergency Services and Preventive Security of Tlajomulco entered the area through the pasture known as Los Castro, based on the GPS location provided by the man.
With the help of a drone equipped with a thermal camera, elements of Civil Protection and Firefighters of Tlajomulco located the family due to the body heat of the people, however, due to the terrain conditions and poor visibility, they had to wait until the dawn of this Sunday to rescue them. Paramedics from municipal Medical Services transferred the woman in a mild state of health to the Green Cross, as she had abrasions on one leg, as well as dehydration.
The general director of Civil Protection and Firefighters of Tlajomulco, Diana Becerra, recommended that visitors not go to this area when there is little light and, in case an accident occurs, not to leave the established trails.
