As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Person Search Commission of the State of Jalisco (COBUPEJ)through its Directorate of Attention and Linkage to Family Members, has implemented a series of informative talks aimed at relatives of missing persons and the institution’s staff. These talks, held throughout the month of October, aim to promote the early detection and prevention of breast cancer, a disease that can be curable if diagnosed in time.
The activities include information sessions with groups of family members looking for their loved ones, providing them with useful tools to identify the first signs of this disease. Through brochures, talks and detailed explanations, nursing staff and paramedics of COBUPES have led these meetingsensuring that both family members and Commission employees receive the necessary information to take care of their health.
An important part of this initiative is the promotion of self-examination breast cancer, as well as guidance on the importance of performing mammograms periodically to detect possible anomalies. At the meetings, emphasis is placed on the need to pay attention to any physical changes, highlighting that breast cancer is curable in many cases when diagnosed in its early stages.
