“Appalling news from northern Gaza, where Palestinians continue to suffer unspeakable horrors under siege by Israeli forces,” XM said on social mediame Msuya. “These atrocities must stop,” she urged.

Israel has been carrying out an air and ground military offensive in northern Gaza since October 6, to prevent Hamas militants from regrouping there.

The siege of this devastated area caused tens of thousands of people to flee and more than 400 people were killed in two weeks, according to local emergency services.

“In Jabaliya, people are trapped under the rubble and first responders cannot reach them,” she added.

“Tens of thousands of Palestinians are forcibly displaced. Basic goods are running out. Hospitals, overwhelmed with patients, were affected,” she described.

She recalled that international humanitarian law provides that civilians, wounded or sick, as well as health personnel and their facilities be protected.

“International humanitarian law must be respected,” she insisted.
