This weekend it’s their turn Being the Ricardos (2021)a true-life drama film about the iconic television duo Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, who starred in I Love Lucy (1951–1957). This time the leading roles are played by none other than Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem.
Famous couple
The film follows the Hollywood couple during a week of production on the set of I Love Lucy. During a lecture on Monday through an audience recording on Friday, Ball and Arnaz face challenges that could end their careers and their marriage. Their racial struggles are also discussed, with Desi being discriminated against for being Cuban and Lucille fighting to keep him on the show.
Oscar nominations
Director Sorkin previously made the true film The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020)which was nominated for no fewer than six Oscars. Previously Sorkin also released Molly’s Game (2017) out. Being the Ricardos received three Oscar nominations in 2022, including Best Actress for Nicole Kidman’s performance. Unfortunately, the film didn’t win any.
