Discreet for a long time, Neymar published a video on YouTube in which he looks back on his difficult rehabilitation work and his “suffering”, after his rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, which occurred on October 18, 2023, while he played with the Seleçao against Uruguay.
“I never imagined that I could have surpassed the number of goals Pelé scored with the national team. It’s Pelé, you see? I would never have thought that in my life. I was experiencing an incredible moment in my life: with this goal achieved, my arrival in Al-Hilal, the birth of my daughter… Everything combined to give me a big year, then it happened…”, sighs the Brazilian before to burst into tears in front of the camera.

In the background, he talks about the seriousness of his injury: “I remember the moment I got my injury, I felt immense pain. At that point I already knew it was serious. What I like most is playing football. Every day away from the field is painful for me, it’s what hurts me the most, what makes me suffer the most.”
