Kaspersky General Manager for Southeast Asia and Developing Asian Countries Yeo Siang Tiong, said that phishers or those who spread phishing often use interesting topics, such as the release of popular products or big events, to deceive users who want to get the latest information.
“With the increase in phishing cases in Indonesia, it is important for the public to remain vigilant, especially against suspicious emails, text messages, social media posts or even phone calls,” said Yeo.
He revealed that threats can come from anywhere, but users can protect themselves with vigilance and using reliable security solutions on their devices.
Yeo added, with the increasing threat of phishing, it is important for internet users to increase awareness and protect personal data better.
“Make sure to always check the authenticity of the emails you receive and don’t carelessly click on links or provide personal information on untrusted sites,” he said.
