Previously, the Minister of Communication and Information, Budi Arie Setiadi, gave a strong warning to companies providing e-wallets which were deemed to have facilitated online gambling.
Budi Arie revealed that there are five e-wallet companies that have facilitated online gambling.
“There are five companies that facilitate online gambling. We will take firm action if they are stubborn,” said Budi Arie, through an official statement quoted by Tekno Liputan6.com, Friday (11/10/2024).
Data from PPATK received by Kominfo states that currently there are five e-wallet companies that are still facilitating online gambling fraud. Moreover, the transaction value in the 5 digital wallets reaches trillions of rupiah, for online gambling alone.
The five e-wallet companies include DANA (PT Espay Debit Indonesia Koe), OVO (PT Visionet Internasional), Gopay (PT Dompet Anak Bangsa), LinkAja (PT Fintek Karya Nusantara), and ShopeePay (PT Airpay International Indonesia).
