2K’s free-to-play Roguelike hero shooter “Project ETHOS” is now available on Steam and has started closed beta testing for European and American servers.

31st Union, a game studio under 2K Games, finally debuted its first game “Project Ethos” (tentative name, Project Ethos) five years after its establishment. It focuses on third-person shooting hero competitive battle gameplay, integrates Roguelike elements and adopts a free operation model. It was recently released on Steam North America Closed testing with European regions.

“Project ETHOS” is currently under development. The game test will be carried out from October 17th to 20th. The test code can only be obtained by watching the live broadcast on Twitch Drops in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, and Germany. , Spain and Italy unfold.

According to the official press release, “Project ETHOS” is a free-to-play Roguelike hero TPS game. The game’s “Evolutions” system brings powerful, semi-random upgrades to each character, such as a sniper becoming a melee fighter. The auxiliary hero becomes the king of duels.

Heroes will receive new ability construction, challenges and tasks in each game, making the battle experience unique. “As time goes by, will you choose to safely evacuate with the cores you have collected so hard, or will you boldly take risks and pursue a higher ranking with your team? Choose The power is in your hands.”

The game has two major modes:

• Trials: The signature gameplay of this game is to collect cores, choose the time to evacuate independently, and use the collected cores to unlock mission progress and new skills to enhance the subsequent adventure.
• Gauntlet: Competitive 3v3 knockout system. Compete with other teams in group battles. After each game, you can upgrade your heroes to fight for the final winner’s throne.

31st Union has been established since February 2019, originally named 2K Silicon Valley, and led by game industry veteran Michael Condrey (co-founder and former head of Sledgehammer Games).

In 2020, it officially changed its name to 31st Union and established a European office in Spain. It is the fourth game development studio under 2K to have a strong presence internationally, following Cloud Chamber, Hangar 13, and Visual Concepts.

Although 31st Union claimed to create original IP when it was founded, it only shocked the industry by announcing its first work nearly five years after its establishment.
