At least as much as the ways of the Lord, those of TikTok moderation are inscrutable. Considering the phenomenal flow of videos posted every day on the platform, there are inevitably failures, despite a meticulous algorithm and more than 40,000 moderators around the world. An impossible race for infallibility for the Chinese social network, which some are taking advantage of to offer completely illegal services supposed to reduce the burdens of the French.
TikTok users definitely know Masdak, the guy with three million subscribers who gives legal tips, sometimes approximate, to avoid getting screwed in many areas of life. There are also a plethora of more or less popular lawyers explaining how to save your license if you get caught under drugs, speeding or how to drive with zero points on the clock. But on the dark side of the force, there are accounts that also offer to divide your electricity bill in half by tinkering with your Linky meter.
Tampering with a Linky
“It’s a quick intervention, and the reduction is made directly on your consumption,” one of these accounts which operates “in Île-de-France and surrounding areas” calmly assures us. It costs 350 euros per intervention, to be paid to the “technician” on site. And if we fear being caught, our interlocutor promises us advice to prevent the manipulation from showing up in consumption and swears that its action is quickly reversible in the event of an unexpected visit from Enedis. A process against which the electricity supplier is fighting by filing multiple complaints but which does not seem to pose a problem for TikTok which finds “no infringement”.
Mater le foot en streaming
Lazy to pay subscriptions to watch series or to follow the exploits of LOSC in Ligue 1? Here again, it is quite easy to find happiness on the social network. To stream films or series, TikTok is not the most suitable platform. However, (very) many accounts still offer this type of content by splitting it into several videos, all accompanied by tips to fool the algorithm and avoid banning for copyright infringement.
For football, there is no live broadcast of matches on TikTok. On the other hand, it is very easy to find many accounts offering, in bio or in their videos, streaming links accessible on platforms like Discord or more often Telegram.
Replace the AdBlue system
More and more users of diesel vehicles are tempted to remove the AdBlue anti-pollution system, because it is expensive, increases consumption or reduces power. Except that modifying or removing this system is prohibited. However, here again, you don’t have to look long to find accounts offering this service almost everywhere in France. While some are anonymous, others are well established as car preparers. The latter deactivate the system but protect themselves behind the words “Attention, only for vehicles on the track”.
Buy a fake Rolex
As the end of year holidays approach and you will have to go through the gift box, certain TikTok accounts will allow you to play the armored son-in-law by offering your step-dad the Rolex of his dreams at a lower cost. Obviously, we are talking about counterfeits here. Thus, an account displays with impunity very beautiful but also very fake Rolex, Hublot, Richard Mille or even Tissot accompanied by a number on WhatsApp to order directly in Turkey.
Treat yourself to sick leave
Are you in great shape and your doctor refuses to give you a voluntary sick leave? This isn’t really a problem if you’re willing to shell out a little money. Several accounts offer to provide you with “sick leave in less than five minutes” by “simply completing a questionnaire” online with a “send by post” option. You can even choose your duration, from 30 euros per week to 110 euros for more than two months with “negotiable prices”.
Well, it still smacks of a scam, payment being requested in advance, often in PCS coupons as is often the case with scammers. However, this online sick leave system did indeed work, and legally, through several sites whose closure was however ordered by the Paris court in November 2020. Other sites to which TikTok accounts link are however still active.
