An incident of fuel spill that leaked into the drain system from the municipality of Cuauhtémoc, in Colima, led to the eviction of several houses and the temporary suspension of a gas station.
Since the night of Tuesday, October 15, a strong smell of fuel was reported coming from the drainage in a home in the municipal seat. In response, Civil Protection elements, both state and municipal, along with personnel from the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), began working in the area to locate the origin of the spill or leak.

Also notice was given to both the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa) like to Mexican Petroleum (Pemex), so that they could act as legally appropriate according to their powers.
After carrying out multiple measurements and corroborating the area in which there is the greatest presence of fuel, on Wednesday afternoon it was possible to identify that the spill is related to the gas station that operates in the municipal seat, located at the intersection of Basilio Vadillo streets. and Melchor Ocampo.

The Civil Protection authorities determined the suspension of said gas station and expanded the evacuation perimeter, including the area surrounding the gas station.
