The initiative proposed by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo (CSP) adds a chapter to the Federal Labor Law to regulate work on digital platforms with benefits for drivers and delivery people.
A transitional regime is established for the IMSS to implement a mandatory pilot program for companies and workers will continue to choose their schedules and platforms.
Discontinuous and limited subordination to the time worked is also recognized and there is no impact on the business model.
“We are looking for clarity in the work rules, a contract registry and an algorithmic management policy,” said the Secretary of Labor, Marath Bolaños.
They seek to guarantee social security, the right to Infonavit and insurance against work accidents, regardless of the amount of income during the time worked that will be counted.
“Digital platform workers, during the time actually worked, will have protection against work accidents, this in the IMSS, during each trip, or service or task provided,” highlighted the secretary.
